Guitarist and composer, Billy McLaughlin returns to the stage after one of the most remarkable medical and musical comebacks in history.  In this, “Starry Night” concert, Billy performs with Orchestra Nova, conducted by Jung-Ho Pak. The joyful performance features a combination of Billy's original compositions and the story of how he learned to play the guitar a second time after being diagnosed with focal dystonia in his left hand.  The music and the life-affirming experience behind it will inspire you to never give up on your dreams and to keep reaching for the stars. Billy McLaughlin: Starry Night with Orchestra Nova airs Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 10 p.m. on WXXI-TV/HD (DT21.1/cable 1011 and 11).

Billy McLaughlin: Starry Night with Orchestra Nova is part of Dialogue on Disability: The Herman & Margaret Schwartz Community Series, a partnership between WXXI and Al Sigl Community of Agencies. The week-long programming intiative is designed to encourage community dialogue about the abilities of people with physical and intellectual disabilities and the importance of inclusion. Dialogue on Disability runs January 7-14, 2013.
