All radio broadcasts begin at 1:00 p.m.  There are two Live in HD theatercasts this month.  Borodin's Princ Igor on 3/1 will start - in the theater only at 12:00 p.m., and Massenet's Werther on 3/15 will start at 1:00 p.m.

3/1       Borodin: Prince Igor Borodin’s defining Russian epic, famous for its Polovtsian Dances, comes to the Met for the first time in nearly 100 years. Dmitri Tcherniakov’s new production is a brilliant psychological journey through the mind of its conflicted hero, with the founding of the Russian nation as the backdrop. Star bass-baritone Ildar Abdrazakov takes on the monumental title role, with Gianandrea Noseda conducting. Live in HD

3/8       Handel, Vivaldi, Rameau, Purcell and others: The Enchanted Island The Met’s delightful Baroque fantasy returns after its critically acclaimed world-premiere run in 2011–12, bringing together the music of Handel, Vivaldi, Rameau, Purcell, and other composers, set to a brilliant new English libretto inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This time, the all-star cast is led by Susan Graham as Sycorax, with David Daniels, Danielle de Niese, and the great Plácido Domingo reprising their roles as Prospero, Ariel, and Neptune.

3/15      Massenet: Werther  Jonas Kaufmann stars in the title role of Massenet's sublime adaptation of Goethe's revolutionary and tragic romance, opposite Sophie Koch as Charlotte. The new production is directed and designed by Richard Eyre and Rob Howell, the same team that created the Met's recent hit staging of Carmen. Rising young maestro Alain Altinoglu conducts. 3/22      Berg: Wozzeck Wozzeck’s longtime champion James Levine conducts Berg’s gripping score of passion, despair, and murder. Deborah Voigt and Thomas Hampson step into the demanding roles of Marie and the hapless title character for the first time in their remarkable careers.

3/29      Bellini: La Sonnambula Diana Damrau stars as Amina opposite bel canto specialist Javier Camarena as Elvino in Mary Zimmerman’s intriguing staging of Bellini’s sweet love story, with its unforgettable sleepwalking aria for the heroine. Marco Armiliato conducts.
