The RPO in NYC

The Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall in New York City only seats 2,804. But if you are not one of those fortunate few attending the RPO's historic concert there on May 7th, then I have some exciting news for you! WXXI's Classical 91.5 FM will be exclusively broadcasting the concert live at 7:30 pm that evening. The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra is returning to Carnegie Hall for the first time since 1985, as one of six orchestras invited to attend the fourth annual Spring For Music Festival — and WXXI will be the only place you'll be able to hear them perform "Merry Mount," an opera from former long-time Eastman School of Music Director Howard Hanson.
As a special bonus, Classical 91.5's Brenda Tremblay is singing in the chorus and she will be posting on Facebook and Twitter (@BrendaBTremblay) from New York City, so be sure to follow her and share her experience. And if that's not enough, don't forget that the RPO Concert Series — hosted by Brenda — airs Mondays at 8:00 pm. For information on the entire 14-week series, you can visit the RPO Series page here at WXXI.org.
As Rochester's leader in arts and culture, we are proud to present this exclusive broadcast of the RPO at Carnegie Hall. I know I'll be listening, and I encourage you to download the WXXI app so you won't miss a note no matter where you are!
