Growing up is hard to do, and for young Arabs, it can be a nightmare.

AM 1370/FM-HD91.5-2 presents the America Abroad special, Young and Restless: Youth Identity in the Arab World, airing Sunday, August 8 at 10 p.m. The Arab world has the largest youth bulge on the planet with one-third of the region's inhabitants between 15 and 24 years of age. They're living in a pressure cooker of social, political, tribal, and religious forces. America Abroad travels to several Arab countries to examine how globalization, Islam, and a turbulent region are shaping how teens and twenty-somethings look at themselves, and the world.

Co-anchored by Ray Suarez and Deborah Amos, America Abroad humanizes foreign policy, providing insight and perspective on how it is made and on those who make it. The monthly programs cover a range of critical issues, from America's evolving engagement with North Korea and Pakistan to Russia's return as a world power and America's challenges in communicating its policies and rebuilding international public approval.
