As part of Vietnam: The War and The People at MuCCC Theater, WXXI presents a FREE preview screening of Ken Burns' The Vietnam War followed by a discussion. - SOLD OUT (Stay tuned for more programs in August & September.)

In conjunction with the much-anticipated Ken Burns’ The Vietnam War, WXXI has partnered with Chapter 20 of the Vietnam Veterans of America, MuCCC, the Central Library, and the Vietnamese Community of Rochester, Inc. to host outreach and engagement programs that encourage our community to participate in a national conversation about what happened during the Vietnam War, what went wrong, and the lessons we learned.

MuCCC Theater, a multi-use community cultural center at 142 Atlantic Avenue in Rochester, will kick off this outreach effort by hosting Vietnam: The War and The People, a week of special programming at the theatre, July 10 through July 15. On July 12 at 7:30 p.m. Vietnam: The War and The People presents a WXXI Preview Screening of The Vietnam War. 

The Vietnam War is a 10 part, 18-hour documentary film series directed by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick will premiere in September 2017. An immersive 360-degree narrative, the series tells the epic story of the Vietnam War as it has never before been told on film. THE VIETNAM WAR features testimony from nearly 80 witnesses, including many Americans who fought in the war and others who opposed it, as well as Vietnamese combatants and civilians from both the winning and losing sides. 

This event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. SOLD OUT.
