Small town art scene
By Brenda Tremblay ~ Posted Thu, 09/02/2010 - 11:13am
Privately-funded public art brightened small towns and markets this summer. My thanks to Classical 91.5 listener Al Kopec, who sent in pictures from the Windmill Farm and Craft Market between Dundee and Penn Yan, where a large mural appeared on one of the buildings.
Elsewhere, in my hometown of Brockport, a plain yellow shoebox was transformed.
An Erie Canal mural filled the blank space over the local indie bookstore. By artist Richard Kron.
A show by the Arena Art Group opened in late August at this new small town gallery.
