Jack WIlliams on Open Tunings, WRUR

Songwriter Jack Williams stopped by the station today for some live music, and interesting conversation. I found out he is good friends with Dayna Kurtz, whose song Venezuala (on her album: Another Black Feather) has been a favorite of mine since first hearing it. His own music is mostly original with strong guitar accompaniment. His most recent studio release is a tribute to musicians/songs which are some of his strongest influences. A couple songs that I love are on the recording; Bye, Bye Blackbird, and Young at Heart, as well as King Harvest from The Band.
Jack plays the Lake Effects concert series tonight, September 16, 2009.
