Did you see Andre Rieu on TV Tuesday night? You have to love a guy who skips in public. More Rieu tonight. -- The RPO’s new vice president of finance and administration, Ron Steinmiller, was the Chief Financial Officer of the Rochester Sports Group, the organization that lost its financial grip on the Rochester Rhinos soccer team. Steinmiller starts at the RPO March 31st. --- A new women’s singing group is forming in Rochester next month. Members of the Threshold Choir intend to carry on the ancient tradition of singing at the bedsides of the sick and dying. The organizer is Ann Robinson. --- Public radio was well represented Saturday at Johnny’s Runnin’ of the Green, a 5 mile road race from downtown to the University of Rochester and back. Afternoon classical host Chris Van Hof, his wife Andrea Van Hof, WXXI intern T.J. Ricer, myself, and my dad (who I’m counting here as a long-time Classical 91.5 supporter) raced with nearly a thousand runners. RPO Trumpeter Doug Prosser ran, too, but I didn’t spot him in the sea of green T-shirts. The weather was cool and gray. I pressed on, even when passed by a bunch of leprechauns, some dogs in green sweaters, St. Patrick, and most embarrassingly, a tuba player in his pajamas.
