Naz students give feedback on listening to Classical 91.5
By Ruth Phinney ~ Posted Thu, 10/29/2009 - 5:01pm
WXXI-FM host Brenda Tremblay, Program Director Ruth Phinney with Nazareth freshman
This afternoon morning host Brenda Tremblay and I met with a group of Freshman at Nazareth College to discuss their experience in listening to classical public radio. Their professor Marrlee Burgess, who is the Director of Student Transition in The First Year Center, had assigned students to listen critically to WXXI-FM 91.5 for two sessions of 45 minutes each - one during regular classical music presentation, and one during pledge week.
We learned a great deal from the students who listen both to radio and ipods and found our hosts to be very knowledgeable, friendly and connected with the audience. These students liked a wide variety of music from heavy metal to opera, and everywhere inbetween.
We'll be learning more from these students in the days ahead, and I encourage students and others to share your critical listening comments with us here at WXXI-FM 91.5.
