More Rochester Music
By Norm Silverstein ~ Posted Tue, 07/05/2011 - 4:46pm
If you are a fan of our OnStage music series, I have some good news! WXXI will once again begin producing more episodes this summer, beginning with a much-anticipated local performance. On Friday, July 15 at the Rochester Public Market, The Lou Gramm Band will be performing a special concert - as well as The Tommy Brunett Band and The Coupe Devilles - and WXXI will be there to capture the shows as part of a new season of OnStage that will be premiering this fall. Thanks to The City of Rochester and corporate support from The Genesee Brewing Company, we are able to record what may be the concert of the year! You can also look for our production crew at other venues across Rochester this summer as we gear up to bring you the region's best music.
And though I make note of the funding for the series, it is still member support that is the station's single largest source of funding. If you recently renewed your membership or made an additional gift to help us reach of fiscal year-end goal, thank you! You can take pride in knowing that you made this concert production, as well as everything that WXXI provides each day, possible.
NOTE: WXXI President was recently featured in Metropolitan Magazine. To view the article, you can visit the Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester Web site and click on the PDF of the Summer 2011 issue.
