Chanukah Stories
(Rochester, New York) – In the dynamic new animated special Chanukah Stories, airing Friday, December 7, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. on WXXI-TV/HD (DT21.1/cable 1011 and 11), celebrity storytellers share two popular Chanukah tales — one which takes place on the first night of the eight-day Festival of Lights, the other on the last. The Tie Man’s Miracle , narrated by actor Jami Gertz (Still Standing), celebrates the true meaning and enduring spirit of the holiday. The folktale Moishe’s Miracle , as re-told by television veteran Bob Saget (Full House), is chock-full of humor, mystery and delicious latkes. Chanukah Stories also airs on WXXI's digital channel, CREATE (DT21.3/cable 433).
Featuring state-of-the-art 3D animation, Chanukah Stories celebrates the most universally loved Jewish holiday through fun-filled stories for children of all ages. This lively, entertaining half-hour special begins on the eve of the first night of Chanukah, with eight-year-old Zachary Maccabee longing for the holiday to begin. In a flash and a whirl, a sassy three-foot animated driedel spins to life and leads Zak on a wild adventure back in time.
