Sara's Weeknight Meals
(Rochester, New York) – Sara Moulton, a 2012 James Beard Broadcast Television Award nominee, reveals kitchen tips, short-cuts and strategies while preparing delicious, family-friendly dishes in Sara's Weeknight Meals, Saturdays at 1 p.m. starting February 16, 2013 on WXXI-TV/HD (DT21.1/cable 1011 and 11). Sara visits markets, farms, gardens shops, butchers and fisheries to learn about the source of her ingredients.
Also during the season guest chefs from around the globe — Top Chef finalist Dale Talde, Brazilian chef Leticia Moreinos Schwartz and James Beard-winning chef Marc Vetri — reveal their secret food sources before preparing a meal in Sara’s home kitchen. For the first time ever, Sara takes a trip to Turkey, where she travels to remote farms with food anthropologists, visits vibrant, bustling open-air markets, and learns the secrets of traditional Turkish cuisine from local mothers and grandmothers. In a special episode, Sara, Julia Child's food stylist for more than a decade, shares great anecdotes, reveals never-before-seen photos and creates Julia-inspired fare.
