Live from Hochstein: Hochstein Merit Scholarship Winners - NEW!

(Rochester, New York) -- Live from Hochstein wraps up its season on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 12:10 p.m. on Classical 91.5/FM-HD 91.5-1, with a special performance by Hochstein Merit Scholarship Winners – violinist Vincent Kurtz and **cellist Annie Jacobs-Perkins**. Hochstein Merit Scholarship award winners are students who demonstrate musicianship and achievement in their instrument and display excellence in performance and artistic accomplishment. 

(5/1/2013) PLEASE NOTE: Annie Jacobs-Perkins will NOT perform due to a schedule conflict. Two additional award winners have been added: Yifan Kong, flute student of Diane Smith, junior at Webster Schroeder High School and Jackson Willis, clarinet student of Debbie Grohman, senior at Irondequoit High School.

Cellist Annie Jacobs-Perkins from Pittsford is a four-year member of the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, where she is principal cellist. She also performs in C4ROC, a rock cello quartet. Vincent Kurtz, an accomplished violinist and assistant principal second violin in the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, resides in Brighton.

Live from Hochstein, hosted by WXXI-FM's Mona Seghatoleslami, is the longest-running live broadcast concert series in Western New York. Each week listeners hear performances by the finest artists from the Rochester area's musical community, with programs ranging from soloists and chamber ensembles to large orchestras and choirs.
