An American Story

(Rochester, New York) -- A true story set in New York City in 1932, An American Story, airing Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. on Classical 91.5/FM-HD 91.5-1, is a one-man show in which 90-year-old Dr. Charles Leale recounts the events that, 67 years before, changed his life forever.

An American Story is based on Dr. Leale’s account of Lincoln’s last hours, as well as the doctor’s original report of 1865 discovered only recently amongst Lincoln’s papers in Washington, DC, in June of 2012. This original musical radio drama features an original orchestral score, drawn from the music of American great Stephen Foster, and a critically acclaimed performance by Hershey Felder, followed by interviews with the descendants of the players.
