Christmas with Madrigalia:O Magunum Mysterium

(Rochester, NY) — Madrigalia returns for another musical Christmas celebration.  Centered on the 16th century mass by Spanish composer Tomas Luis de Victoria, this one-hour program includes seasonal music by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Anton Bruckner, Herbert Howells, Boris Ord and Darmon Meador. Christmas with Madrigalia airs Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 12 p.m. on Classical 91.5.

Founded in 1975, Madrigalia has built an extensive repertoire encompassing traditional and contemporary styles of secular and sacred choral literature from the Renaissance through the twenty-first century. The eighteen-member ensemble uses choral music as a powerful tool to communicate humor, sorrow, prayer, meditation, celebration and remembrance.
