Monty Python Conquers America

(Rochester, NY)— Follow the evolution of Monty Python from its beginnings as a wacky British sketch comedy troupe to its current standing as a certified global phenomenon that redefined humor and shaped an entire generation of American comics in Monty Python Conquers America on WXXI-TV on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 9:30 p.m. In the documentary, Judd Apatow, Hank Azaria, David Hyde Pierce and other performers share their favorite Python moments and explain how the group influenced their work and inspired them to push the boundaries of entertainment.

The British comedy group rose to fame with its comedy sketch show “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” that first aired on BBC in 1969.  The show’s success has led to subsequent films, albums, stage shows, books, and individual stardom for the group members.  Monty Python’s members include John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and, formerly, Graham Chapman.
