February 2017 Program Highlights:

Sunday, February 5, 2017 - 12:00pm

(Rochester, NY) – An annual tradition, WXXI-TV offers an alternative to watching the big game. It’s called Super Drama Sunday and it features the first ten episodes of A Place to Call Home, a sweeping romantic drama that centers on enigmatic nurse Sarah Adams. Super Drama begins at Noon on Sunday, February 5, 2017 on WXXI-TV.

Sunday, February 12, 2017 - 9:00pm

(Rochester, NY) – Objects hold history. They’re evocative of stories stamped in time. As part of The Washington Post’s coverage of the Smithsonian’s new National Museum of African American History and Culture, people submitted dozens of objects that make up their own lived experiences of black history, creating a “people’s museum” of personal objects, family photos and more.

Saturday, February 11, 2017 - 5:00pm

(Rochester, NY) – One of the most renowned and beloved singers of the 20th century, American soprano Leontyne Price rose to superstardom at a time when African-American artists were only just beginning to achieve major recognition in the operatic world.
