San Francisco Opera

The San Francisco Opera has presented the United States debut performances of numerous artists from around the world.

The WFMT Radio Network continues the American Opera series with the SAN FRANCISCO OPERA hosted by Elaine Warner and Dianne Nicolini. These programs include operas from their past season performed in the War Memorial Opera House, their home since October 1932.

The San Francisco Opera presents George Frederick Handel's opera Partenope, which was first performed at the King's Theatre in London on February 24, 1730.

The San Francisco Opera presents Puccini, Bellini, Floyd and Verdi this month.  NOTE:  The opera begins at 3:00 p.m. on 9/12, due to the live remote broadcast from the Memorial Art Gallery's Clothesline Arts Festival.

October's presentations from the San Francisco Opera include two of Verdi's finest operas: La Traviata and Falstaff featuring Nicole Cabell as Violette and Bryn Terfel as Falstaff.

September's San Francisco Opera presentations include Wagner's Der Fliegende Holländer (special time 3:00 p.m.), Britten's Peter Grimes and operas by Rossini and Richard Strauss.
