Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival

Now in its 40th season, this celebrated New Mexican music festival is known for its commitment to tradition, artistic excellence, innovation and vision.  The Festival remains dedicated to lesser known composers and compositions, and to commissioning new works.  Festival Artistic Director Marc Neikrug joins host Kerry Frumkin to provide commentary about the festival the musicians and the music they perform.

As the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival has wrapped up in Rochester, we hear one more bit of jazz from Gershwin on the July 7th program.

The June 30th program from the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival features a composition by Oliver Knussen, his Songs for Sue from Requiem.   It's a piece written in memory of his wife, who died in 2003, and sets four poems for soprano and 15-piece ensemble.
