An award winning actor and director, from ingénue to villain, Chevron's credits include actor and director. Some of her roles include: the stripper Electra in Gypsy; Sister Lee in Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?; Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly; Vera in Mame; Domina in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum; Ouiser Boudreaux in Steel Magnolias; Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirit; Lady Macbeth in Macbeth; The Duchess of York in Richard III; and Kate in Taming of the Shrew. Her years on the road were spent in classic musicals and many children’s productions.
Ms. Chevron has been awarded several TANYS (Theatre Association of New York State) honors for The Queen of Bingo, Save Me a Place at Forest Lawn, Jake’s Women, and The Mousetrap, among others. Diane received another Excellence in Acting Award from TANYS for her portrayal of the Barmaid in Lay-off, which was selected at the 2009 TANYS Festival to be performed at the ESTA (Eastern States Theatre Association) Festival in Delaware. Directed by Michael Arve, she received the same recognition for her portrayal of Melissa Gardner in Love Letters with Allan Cuseo.
Most recently, Chevron was seen in Ping!; The Dreamland Bus; and Bermuda Avenue Triangle, directed by Allan Cuseo, for which she earned another TANYS Excellence in Acting Award.
As part of the International High Falls Film Festival, Chevron was in the feature films Signs of Undoing and Smoking Laws at the Little Theatre, as well as The Big Bit, also at the Little Theatre. To be released in 2012, she recently wrapped a short feature film, Invitation.
She has also written directed and performed in several musical revues and is the Co-founder of the cabaret group CITY SIX. She was pleased to be part of the team that brought the AACT (American Association of Community Theatre) Festival to Rochester in 2011.
