Your Broadway Memories

Your Broadway Memories

Much like going to a movie, attending a Broadway show is an escape—a time to forget about what’s happening outside the theatre doors for three hours.  Frequently lifetime memories are made during a show when a song is performed that pulls on the heartstrings or challenges thought.

During last week’s program host Robert Hammond introduced a new feature called “The Song of the Week.”   This weekly feature will highlight, as the title says, a song recommended by a listener.  Since the feature was announced, he’s been flooded with recommendations!  So, rather than limiting the kick off program to one song, this week’s entire program will be devoted to showcasing many of the show tunes faithful Stage Notes listeners suggested.  Some listeners sent touching stories relating to their song choice.  This week’s Stage Notes is a celebration of memories.

Keep sending your “Song of the Week” recommendations to stagenotes@wxxi.org.  If you’d like to include a short story, it would be greatly appreciated.
