Cass Morgan

Welcome to the Double Cupp Diner, way down on Highway 57 between Frog Level and Smyrna, where the cherry pie is fresh, and the waitresses are like the coffee – hot! The boys from the gas station next door play a high-octane blend of country and bluegrass packed with entertaining toe-tappers about life, love, and good times.

Among others, Broadway veteran Cass Morgan wrote the book, music, and lyrics for Pump Boys and Dinettes.  She joins host Robert Hammond to discuss her impressive Broadway career and the musical on Stage at Geva Theatre Center through October 13.

Cass Morgan originated the role of Mama in the 2010 Tony award- winning Broadway musical Memphis, for which she received an Outer Critics Circle nomination. Ms. Morgan has also worked extensively regionally and Off-Broadway, and among her favorite productions are The Immigrant, Floyd Collins, Violet, Merrily We Roll Along (York Theatre revival) Memphis (La Jolla and Seattle), Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas (Goodspeed) and the national tour of Cabaret, among others.
